Available in limited quantities, this Gibson Les Paul Special SL Humbucker Electric Guitar retains the original's vintage look, but has real humbucking tone. Instead of P-100s, it features a 490R neck pickup and a 498T bridge pickup. Like the standard Special, it has a contoured back for greater comfort, mahogany slim-taper set neck, mahogany body, rosewood fingerboard with mini-trapezoid inlay, chrome hardware, ABR bridge, stopbar tailpiece, 2 volume and 2 tone controls with 3-way switch.

- A historic Custom Shop masterpiece.
In 1960, it offered guitarists all the features that made the Les Paul famous for a moderate price, but it soon became a lean-and-mean favorite in its own right. This custom shop re-creation features a solid mahogany body and neck, 2 P-90 magnetic pickups, nickel hardware, wrap-around tailpiece, multilayered black/white pickguard, and black pickup covers, just like the original.

Gibson Custom Shop 1960 Les Paul Special Single Cutaway Electric Guitar
- The guitar that fulfilled the guitar dreams of the '60s generation.
The Les Paul Special made the virtues of the Les Paul available to those who couldn't quite afford the Standard or Custom versions. And it had all the essential features: solid mahogany body and neck, 2 P-90 pickups, wraparound tailpiece, and 2 volume and 2 tone controls with 3-way switching. This Custom Shop Historic Series re-creation duplicates the original at its finest. This is the single cutaway version (there was also a 1960s double cutaway) with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot inlays. Nickel hardware.
